A shower of fireballs fell in thick forest in the Sikhote-Alin Mts., 25 miles from Novopoltavka, Maritime Province, producing 106 impact holes, the largest 28 metres across, over an area of 100 x 660 metres, and many fragments, up to 300 kg in weight, totalling over 23000 kg, were found scattered inside and outside the holes.
Specimens: 1745 kg Moscow, Acad. Sci., principal mass, and other specimens; 4 kg Washington, U. S. Nat. Mus.; 4.9 kg Copenhagen, Univ. Geol. Mus.; 7 kg Albuquerque, Univ. of New Mexico; 3.3 kg Tempe, Arizona State Univ.; 3 kg Prague, Nat. Mus.; 1.6 kg London, British Museum (NH).
